The so-called céntimo sanitario, or Tax on the Retail Sale of Certain Hydrocarbons, is a tax that was levied by the Treasury from 2009 to 2012 and which was declared illegal in February 2014.
Once it was declared illegal, a period was opened in which companies can apply for a refund of the amounts paid for this concept, provided that the applications are not made for periods that have already expired.
The beneficiary will receive, in a period of approximately 6 months, as much income as the number of service stations reflected in the application.
At confialia we can advise you on this and check whether it is really worthwhile to apply for the tax refund, depending on your fuel consumption, as well as clarify any doubts that may arise.
