Effective October 01, 2018, Order ESS/214/2018, dated March 1, 2018, will enter into force. This order introduces the obligation of self-employed workers to manage electronically their affiliation, contribution and collection their affiliation, contribution and collection formalities, as well as the receipt of the receipt of notifications of administrative acts of the General Treasury of the Social Security.
The self-employed are receiving this information progressively, with communications from the Social Security by various means: e-mail, SMS or letter. The Social Security will provide two channels for compliance with this obligation:

  • Self-management of Social Security notifications by the self-employed.. To do so, the self-employed must provide the Administration with his/her contact details, cell phone and e-mail, which will be used to send communications of interest and notices (provision of notifications such as non-payment of quotas, embargoes, etc.). Once the notice is received, the self-employed must download the notification electronically, using the digital certificate of the FNMT, electronic ID card or Cl@ve system.
  • Appoint an authorized person to act on its behalf..
