Who hasn't had to go to the court to give a power of attorney to a lawyer or solicitor for a legal matter, with all the stress that this entailed (it always fell on the worst day, as Murphy's Law says), queues, hassles with security checks, etc.
In many cases, proxies for lawsuits became a race to the courthouse so that the deadlines would not expire. All of this can be left behind with the new "online" procedure.
Well, for those who have not yet had the "pleasure" of making a power of attorney for a lawyer or solicitor, it can be done in one of two ways:

Granting powers of attorney in a public deed before a Notary Public
(at a cost of approximately 40 to 60 euros).
They can also be granted "apud acta", appearing in person at the court (in which case there is no fee).
NEW ONLINE SYSTEM. Well, article 32 bis of Law 18/2011, of 5 July, regulating the use of information and communication technologies in the Administration of Justice establishes the availability in the judicial offices of an electronic register of Apud Acta powers of attorney; and for this purpose it is now possible to grant a power of attorney "apud acta" through the internet, telematically, at no cost and without going to the court. To do so, the company must have its digital certificate (in the case of companies) or electronic ID (for individuals) and access https://sedejudicial.justicia.es , in the section "Trámites y servicios" / "Apoderamiento apud acta" / "Acceder al servicio".
Once on this page, there are two options for granting the power of attorney: as "poderdante" (if you are the interested party, a natural person) or as "compareciente" (if you are granting it as a representative of your company, in which case you must provide the scanned deed of your appointment).
Details of the lawyer and solicitors. To complete the procedure, all you need to do is provide the details of the professional to whom you are granting the power of attorney (name, ID card number, professional association number, etc.) and the duration of the power of attorney (bearing in mind that the maximum period is five years).
